Plain suction dredger Main Structure and Working Principle

(1) Cutter Head: A rotating device with cutting teeth installed at the front of the vessel, designed to break up hard sediments or soft rock on the seabed.

(2) Suction Pipe & Dredge Pump: The cut material mixes with water to form a slurry, which is then sucked through the suction pipe and pumped to the discharge pipeline.

(3) Positioning System: Typically uses anchor cables or spud poles (e.g., "cutter suction" type) to ensure operational precision.

(4) Discharge System: The slurry can be directly pumped to reclamation areas or transported by barges.

The plain Suction Dredger has a working efficiency with an hourly output of up to 800-2000 cubic meters. It can operate stably in water depths of up to 5-26 meters and has a long-distance conveying capacity of 200-4000 meters. Equipped with a hydraulic drive system, it maintains high efficiency under these conditions.
