Years of aquaculture lead to thick silt and humus accumulation at pond bottom. Regular desilting improves breeding environment. Due to limited pond space, split small cutter suction dredgers with shallow draft are preferred for flexible access. Control water disturbance during dredging to reduce negative influence on aquatic products.
